The federal holiday celebrating the life of civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a “day on, not a day off” coined by the late Coretta Scott King. In 1983 President Ronald Reagan signed a bill into law designating the third Monday in January to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and in 1994, President Bill Clinton signed the King Holiday and Service Act into law. Cricket Nation mobilizes this call to action by continuing to create meaningful connections in the communities we serve.

Monday, January 15 Cricket Nation is partnering with Savannah Feed the Hungry to serve approximately 2,000 people a communal dinner from 2-6PM.

New York City
Cricket Nation joins Bronx Borough President, Vanessa Gibson on Thursday, January 18 to distribute 500 coats to those in need at the Bronx County Courthouse (851 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10451) from 4-8PM.

MLK Day Parades
There are tons of parades across the country hosted on Monday, January 15 to bring people from different walks of life together. Stop by our booth in Athens, GA; Bartow, FL; Charlotte, NC; Jacksonville, FL; Lawrenceville, GA; Little Rock, AR and Washington, DC for great giveaways!

In Shreveport, LA we will also be present at the Krewe of Harambee parade Saturday, January 20 from 1-3PM. The annual MLK Day celebration hosted at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium (705 Grand Ave Shreveport, LA 71101) celebrates Dr. King’s spirit and the festivities of Mardi Gras.
