Cricket Wireless is committed to helping our customers stress less and smile more all year long.

We recently teamed with the Boys and Girls Club to honor Mom Heroes across California as part of the Mother’s Day celebration. Kids from participating Clubs submitted nominations – in the form of videos, poems and illustrations – expressing how their moms had acted boldly to go above and beyond to overcome challenging times and keep their family first. More than 22 Mom Heroes were recognized and received a $250 Walmart gift card. In addition, each mom received a free 4G LTE smartphone from Motorola and one month of service through Cricket Wireless.

Our amazing network of Authorized Retailers (AR) continue to play an integral role in our efforts to give our local communities something to smile about. For example, for Earth Day, Cricket AR Bolt Wireless held a recycling event as part of their grand opening festivities for the new Cricket store in Tacoma. Together with local radio station MOViN 92.5 and Rain City Recycling, this AR hosted a drop off event where customers could bring their unwanted electronics for recycling. In fact, the first 25 people that stopped by to recycle received a five-dollar Starbucks gift card and one recycler won a $100 cash prize.

In Austin, Cricket and AR Bueno Communication teamed with the Central Texas Food Bank. Together with other volunteers, the team packaged roughly 540 boxes (16 pounds each) of fresh produce and bread; that’s more than 8,000 pounds of food. In San Antonio, Cricket and AR Sun Com distributed food to more than 500 families in need. And at our store in Jesup, GA, Cricket, AR XCell and Second Harvest distributed food to 300 families in conjunction with non-profit Sista 2 Sister.

These are just a few of the activities Cricket participated in over the last couple of months to support our local communities. Stay tuned for our next Smiles for Miles update.
