How do I find my device ID number (IMEI)?

  1. Open your phone's keypad.
  2. Dial *#06#.
  3. You should see a 15-digit number.

If you dial *#06# and you don't see a 15-digit number, your phone is probably not compatible with Cricket.

You can also look in your phone's settings to find your device ID number (IMEI). Look under About or General for the IMEI. On most Android phones and tablets, the IMEI number is printed on the back near the battery. You may also find it printed on the back of some iPhones and iPads.

Have a Windows phone?

You can also find your device ID number in your phone's settings. Tap Settings > about and look for your IMEI. You can also find it printed on your phone label, which is located under the back cover.

Why is my device incompatible?

The device you want to bring likely utilizes different cellular technology that is not compatible withthe Cricket Network.

Many cell phone providersuse different networks, making some devices incompatible with all networks.International devices could also use different frequency bands which could hinder your service on our network.

What is an unlocked device?
An unlocked cell phone or tablet is not tied to any specific wireless carrier. This means you can use it with any wireless provider, as long as they have a similar network. (Purchase of a service plan and a SIM card required).

Most cell phones and tablets that use SIM cards are sold locked, which means they are programmed to only work with the original carrier. To get a device unlocked, contact the original wireless carrier. They will usually unlock it for you as long as you meet the requirements.

How do I know if my phone is unlocked?
To test your phone, try borrowing a SIM card from a friend who's on a different wireless carrier and insert it into your phone. If you are able to make and receive calls, then your phone is probably unlocked.*
