California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)
We believe the more you know about how we use data for business and marketing purposes, the more you can enjoy the benefits that our responsible use of information delivers to you.
Cricket — like nearly every company that provides a service — collects certain data that enables us to deliver it. Data from online activity helps us detect fraud and secure our network and devices.

What has changed as a result of the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act?
The VCDPA lets Virginia residents view or delete information collected about them by businesses. It lets them control the sale of their personal information and the use of their sensitive personal information.
What actions do I need to take?
If you’re happy with your experience with us, you don’t need to take any actions. Your access to our services is not changing as a result of the law, which is effective Jan. 1, 2023.
What if I’m not a Virginia resident?

Cricket uses your information to deliver great service and a customized experience. However, you get to choose your privacy preferences and can opt out of our use of your information at any time, using the below links.
- Customer Proprietary Network Information – opt-out of our use of your CPNI for marketing purposes: CPNI Marketing
- SMS/MMS – Opt-out of marketing text messages about Cricket products and services: Text Messages. You can opt out of marketing text messages from Cricket about third party products and services: Third Party Marketing Text Messages. You can also opt out of any marketing text messages by replying ‘Stop’ to any message or manage it in your online account at Cricketwireless.com
- As required or allowed by law, even if you opt-out, we may continue to contact you with automated messages at the telephone number issued by us for service and non-marketing information about your service. For example, we may remind you about your plan features or we may need to let you know about a problem with your wireless service.
- Automated messages - In some cases, we will ask for your permission to send you automated calls or messages to your mobile phone. To opt-out of these calls or messages from us, go to Customer Choices and Controls. As required or allowed by law, even if you opt-out, we may continue to contact you with automated calls or messages at the telephone number issued by us for certain important informational messages about your service. For example, we may need to let you know about a problem with your wireless service.
- Postal Mail – opt-out of postal mail solicitations about Cricket products and services: Postal Mail
- Email – opt-out of marketing emails about Cricket products and services: Email
- Consumer telemarketing: Ask to be removed from our consumer telemarketing lists by sending an e-mail to privacypolicy@cricketwireless.com, or writing to us at Cricket Privacy Policy, 1025 Lenox Park Blvd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30319. You also can ask a Cricket representative to remove you from our telemarketing lists when you receive a marketing or promotional call from us.
- National Do Not Call Registry: The FTC maintains a National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov, and some states in the United States may maintain their own Do Not Call Registry. Putting your number on these registries also may limit our telemarketing calls.
Can anyone make these requests?
Yes, any U.S. resident can complete an online data request.
How long do requests take?
We’ll work as quickly as possible. If you live in California, we’re required to give you a data report within 45 days. It may take 90 days if we find we need more time - but we'll be sure to let you know.
Is there anything I should know about a "do not sell or share" request?
We may share limited information to create, deliver and measure advertisements for things you might like. We also share information in ways that may be considered a sale of personal information under some state laws, such as exchanging subscriber lists for marketing.
Unless you give us explicit permission, we don’t sell data that directly identifies you. We may share data attached to an automated number, like an advertising ID, with other AT&T companies. In California, Nevada, or Virginia this may be considered a sale or share of personal info.
What information does Cricket have about me?
We keep some of your data to personalize experiences and offers - just for you. Here’s some of the data we have:
- Information you’ve given us, like your home address for billing
- Data from our services you’ve used, like phone, purchase history, and data plans
- Info about your interests and demographics for marketing

What will I see in my access report?
Your report will have items linked to you, like information about your services with us, and marketing info. Keep in mind that we voluntarily honor consumers’ requests to access their information in states that do not require it. If some of our vendors choose not to participate in providing such information, some isolated data will not be included in our response to you.
What happens when I ask for my data to be deleted?
Regardless of the state where you reside, we comply with your request as defined by applicable laws. Keep in mind, these laws also let us keep data for things like:
- Running the business
- Security and fraud protection
- Compliance with legal obligations
- Marketing our products and services to our own customers
